Adidas Unveils 5-Year Growth Plan

PARIS – Unveiling its five-year growth plan, Adidas said net income is set to increase by 15 percent on average per year, while currency-neutral sales are grow at a high-single-digit rate on average per year until 2020. “The new business plan is built around three major strategic choices: speed, cities and open source,” according to the German sporting goods company, which swung to a loss at the end of 2014. Adidas said it would reduce production lead times; expand its e-commerce business to more than 2 million euros, or $2.2. million at current exchange, by 2020; focus on six relevant metropolises – Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Shanghai and Tokyo; and bump up its talent and marketing spend, while also engage more directly with the end consumer.
