LOTS OF GREEN: Tuesday was the day many Americans got their Irish on — and it’s big business too. According to Statista, a data research firm based in New York, 127 million Americans celebrated the holiday and spent $4.63 billion this year on food, drink and travel, which is up from about $3.6 billion five years ago. And to wash down the corned beef and cabbage, revelers in the U.S. were expected to drink over $250 million worth of beer. Globally, 13 million pints of Guinness were expected to be consumed as well.
