Duchess of Cambridge Attends Service for Afghanistan

LONDON – The Duchess of Cambridge was among the members of Britain’s royal family who gathered at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London Friday for a service to mark the end of Britain’s involvement in the war in Afghanistan. The service was attended by royals including Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh; Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall; Prince Harry, the Duke of York, and the Earl and Countess of Wessex, along with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. They joined politicians including Prime Minister David Cameron and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, along with members of Britain’s armed forces, veterans and relatives of deceased armed forces personnel, St. Paul’s Cathedral said. The Duchess wore a navy blue coat by Beulah London to the service, together with a navy hat and blue high-heeled pumps. Following the service, a parade of those who served in Afghanistan from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, the Army and the Royal Air Force, along with armed services veterans, was set to take place, leading from St. Paul’s Cathedral to receptions at London’s Guildhall.
