PARIS — Firmenich said it has appointed Boet Brinkgreve as president of Firmenich China, starting March 16, in addition to the executive maintaining his current role as president of the global ingredient business unit. Brinkgreve is also a member of the Swiss fragrance and flavors supplier’s executive committee. “China is a strategic high-growth market for Firmenich,” stated Gilbert Ghostine, chief executive officer of the company. “At Firmenich, we have great ambitions for China.” The firm said it has been investing in China over the past 20 years to expand its footprint and capabilities to best meet its customers’ needs with innovative and locally relevant solutions. Firmenich operates three manufacturing units there that cover each of its business units — perfumery, flavors and ingredients. The company in 2012 launched a corporate research center in Shanghai. Firmenich also has two commercial centers with applications laboratories in Beijing and Guangzhou.
