PARIS — Young designers at Designers Apartment, which ended Thursday, lauded the Chambre Syndicale-backed initiative for its strong buyer response. “It’s a great opportunity to show your work in a beautiful venue,” said Christelle Kocher, of the space on Rue de Richelieu. Her brand Koché (described as “couture à porter”) launched last September and represented at Designers Apartment for the first time. She said buyers were after exceptional items, such as a blue coat made of feathers or a top decorated with Lesage embroidery. “Today what they go for is the pieces with strong identity — and never mind the price, actually,” she said. “They were really much more into getting something really special.” The brand, which is already sold in retailers including Ikram and Montaigne Market, has wholesale prices ranging from 120 euros to 2,800 euros, or $127 to $2,970 at current exchange. Another first-timer at Designers Apartment was Belle Ninon. The label, which was created by Ling Liu and Dawei Sun in 2009, was stopped in 2011, when they joined Cacharel, and then relaunched in 2014.
