Starter has added the NCAA to its licensed sports apparel offerings. The Starter NCAA collection will offer logos and mascots from more than 200 colleges and universities nationwide. A soft launch will start this month when a limited release of snapback hats from Georgetown, Syracuse, the Miami Hurricanes and UNLV will be offered at specialty stores. The hats will sell for $30 to $40. A more-comprehensive collection of headwear, jerseys, jackets, fleece and tees will be available in fall at university bookstores and top retailers nationwide. The collection will be marketed under Starter Black Label and will be distributed by G-III Sports. Sean McKinney, former president of Mitchell & Ness, will head the initiative at G-III. “We are thrilled to work with such established colleges and universities to introduce this exciting new Starter NCAA collection,” said Carl Banks, president of G-III Sports. “School spirit is infectious and most importantly synonymous with the Starter brand. We will continue to honor the brand’s heritage, while reaching legions of college sports fans all over the country with a complete line of Starter Black Label NCAA product.”
