Isaac Lagnado Revives Tactical Retail Solutions

Isaac Lagnado is reviving his Tactical Retail Solutions branding and market research practice following a foray into the “luxe” domain. “I sold the domain name, Luxe.com,” Lagnado told WWD. He operated the Luxe.com Web site selling designer footwear and accessories at off-price from 2010 and 2014, but he said it never blossomed much past the test phase. “In my opinion, in the end, Luxe.com was a viable concept. I didn’t have the expertise to do the fulfillment.” Lagnado sold the luxe name to Gandi.net which is listed under Craig Martin in San Francisco. Martin could not be reached. Lagnado said the Web site had substantial inventory of new, first-quality “classic” merchandise from Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Prada, Chanel and other designers. “Customers were willing to pay up to 75 percent of ‘suggested retail’ prices for these goods, although a 50 percent discount was the most common.” Lagnado declined to say how much he sold Luxe.com for, other than saying it was six figures. “The luxe adjective has now become shorthand for an aspirational lifestyle and is attached to every product or service, from autos and handbags to cruises and apartment buildings.” Lagnado is an industry veteran and market researcher, having worked for the Associated Merchandising Corp.
