Veronica and Vivian Chou May Be Eyeing Thakoon

CHOU’S CHOICE: Could Thakoon be the designer that Veronica and Vivian Chou are zeroing in on? According to sources, the Chou sisters are seriously talking with Thakoon about developing his brand into an online fast-fashion powerhouse in Hong Kong with designer level price points and quality. Thakoon Panichgul was on a family holiday in Thailand and couldn’t be reached for comment Wednesday. His business partner and chief executive officer Maria Borromeo, said, “We have spoken to Silas [Chou] and Vivian about her business plan, and it’s our understanding they are in multiple discussions with other designers.” She said there is nothing to report at this time. Chou officials couldn’t be reached for comment. The Chous are the daughters of Hong Kong mogul Silas Chou, ceo of the family business Novel Holdings, and former investor in Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors. It was reported last week that the Chous are casting a wide net and talking to many designers, but sources said Thakoon could be their top choice.
