Helen Mirren Premieres ‘Woman in Gold’ in Badgley Mischka

GOOD AS GOLD: Helen Mirren wore a midnight-blue chiffon Badgley Mischka dress to Monday night’s premiere of her new film, “Woman in Gold.” The actress, who is also currently in the midst of a Broadway run as Queen Elizabeth II in “The Audience,” plays a Jewish refugee trying to reclaim a famous Gustav Klimt painting in the movie, which is based on the efforts of Los Angeles-based attorney E. Randol Schoenberg. Directed by Simon Curtis, it also stars Ryan Reynolds, Katie Holmes, Max Irons and Allan Corduner. Attendees at the New York premiere, held at the Museum of Modern Art, included Zac Posen, Fern Mallis, Tony Bennett, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Brooke Shields, Martha Stewart, Dylan Baker and Matthew Beard. Afterwards, Mirren headed uptown to the Ronald S. Lauder-owned Neue Galerie, where the original “Woman in Gold” Klimt portrait—of Adele Bloch-Bauer, the aunt of Mirren’s character—is on display. “Helen embodies the character she plays so entirely,” Irons remarked as the actress posed in front of the painting.”She’s the nicest, kindest, prettiest, most self deprecating woman you could hope to meet.” The film opens in select theaters on Wednesday.
