Gant is building on its presence in the U.K., and will open a 1,860-square-foot store in London’s St. Pancras International station on Tuesday. The space will add to Gant’s 18 standalone U.K. stores, and will carry both men’s and women’s collections. The label noted that one million travelers pass through the train station every week, with the rail hub connecting London to France and Belgium, along with a number of British commuter destinations. Fergus Patterson, Gant’s managing director for the U.K. and Ireland, commented that “the combination of domestic and international travelers, along with a growing number of workplace customers, affords us a great opportunity to showcase our brand in what I hope to be the first of a number of travel locations for Gant in the U.K..” The label will sit nearby to stores such as MAC, LK Bennett, Whistles and Thomas Pink in the station. p> Gant said that it has worked closely on the design of the store with English Heritage, which protects historic buildings, monuments and sites, as St. Pancras is a listed neo–Gothic building, which dates bag to 1863.
