Cindy Rachofsky Hosts Event for Two x Two for AIDS and Art

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING: Hunched over a gray tote in a private art gallery in Farmers Branch, Tex., New York graffiti artist Victor Ving said he’s worked for fashion companies in the past, but never like this. “Not often do I get to paint on handbags,” Ving said as he outlined the initials “CR” onto the Nancy Gonzalez handbag. “It’s crocodile, so it’s pretty bold to be doing this.” “CR” stands for Cindy Rachofsky, who hosted the unusual event with Nancy C. Rogers, Neiman Marcus and the Nancy Gonzalez company. The 60 guests were invited to shop Gonzalez’ colorful spring collection and select personal graffiti to embellish their purchases, including a crown icon that proved popular. The bags average $4,000, but the graffiti was a free perk for shoppers at the Wednesday launch, which set aside 20 percent of proceeds for the Dallas charity Two x Two for AIDS and Art, explained Santiago Gonzalez, president and creative director. “This only worked here,” he said. “Dallas is a very particular place, and Two x Two is an organization that I deeply support and love.” About 10 to 15 people ordered customized handbags at the luncheon, including Tina Craig, Nasiba Adilova and Karla McKinley, while others
