Sunrise Brands Sells Superdry License to SuperGroup Plc.

Sunrise Brands has sold its North American license for Superdry to Superdry’s parent company, SuperGroup Plc. Terms were not disclosed. The deal includes the exclusive rights to distribute Superdry products in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. It follows on the heels of SuperGroup’s acquisition of its Scandinavian, Spanish and German licensees over the last 18 months. Sunrise Brands acquired the Superdry North American license in 2008 and has opened 15 stores around the U.S., including New York, Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles. A store is also slated for Las Vegas. Superdry also sells wholesale at Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Hudson’s Bay. “We are proud to have spearheaded the launch of the Superdry brand in North America over these past seven years,” said Gerard Guez, founder and chief executive officer of SDUSA, LLC. “As we hand the reins back to SuperGroup, I remain extremely bullish on Superdry’s future in North America and know it is in good hands. This is an important step in SuperGroup’s long-term vision of bringing the Superdry brand back under one roof, and I couldn’t be happier for the company and its shareholders.”

Rogers, Neiman Marcus and the Nancy Gonzalez company. The 60 guests were invited to shop Gonzalez’ colorful spring collection and select personal graffiti to embellish their purchases, including a crown icon that proved popular. The bags average $4,000, but the graffiti was a free perk for shoppers at the Wednesday launch, which set aside 20 percent of proceeds for the Dallas charity Two x Two for AIDS and Art, explained Santiago Gonzalez, president and creative director. “This only worked here,” he said. “Dallas is a very particular place, and Two x Two is an organization that I deeply support and love.” About 10 to 15 people ordered customized handbags at the luncheon, including Tina Craig, Nasiba Adilova and Karla McKinley, while others
